Yes, Kick Me.

Cheeky Missy

I know you didn't forgive me for failing to post on the day itself, but I haven't the luxury.

Say What Ye Want, T'was Fun

(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCXLIII)

An empty shell of what I was, avail
Me on this day where valentines were dense
With import and fraught dreams whose very sense
Was all I ever wanted, is sans bail.
How silly then is't? that I sign, detail
Both placemats with a box of hearts fr'intents,
And "sharing" bag of M&M's each, thence
All "minis" and too fun, like in all hail.
Sip Barry's with a piece of shortbread fer
Good sense; try to have coffee, kringle too
Just after, to spill all on me in poor
Reply, so have a royal mess t'undo.
Warm breakfast hash, Canad'an bacon; stir
A pot of porridge, eggs fry, all of You.

aka Arqios set me to searching, finally, and it was definitely worth it. Thank you!

Enlighten Me By Half, Will Ye?

(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCXLIV)

Look up how Valentines Day came fr'intents
To be, and lo, confirm tis Spring's detail:
"For lovebirds in the early Spring--" avail
Us not of conversation hearts for sense,
Ere mulling too, the gory tale which thence
Was trotted forth: how Roman soldiers' trail
To marriage was forbid. That figures. They'll
Be useless if tied up, so kill whom hence?
The priest who sanctified their bonds as t'were
Was named lo, "Valen" eh? Or did he woo
A maid himself?! Cold sausage pizza fer
My welcome and a cupcake like on cue
Where third shift had a snowy night in tour
Is thus my lot, and LORD, we wait on You.

Or? [Probably because I've not only said, but also kissed my car, saying she's preferable to some men I've had to kiss.]

Guess Cupid Missed and Shot My Tire

(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCXLV)

Now midnight edges closer, that detail
Of "Valentines Day," and of "party" hence
Seem shot, the earrings I'd donned off, pretense
A frightened child the drive to work left frail
As nary stretch was ploughed, not much'd avail.
Why when the shop dares rotate tires, does thence
One spring a leak?! Deep snow, I've no defense
Nor can be stuck along the highway. Bail?
Thy mercies, LORD, alone as erst endure,
For we are here despite aught which'd undo.
How to get home, and elsewhere? None astir,
I've shoveled all the parking spaces to
Find "mine," salt after, and wait. Is it poor?
Oh LORD, deliver us from evil too?

Aww, you're too kind, Thomas! Thank you, thank you! I'm too swamped with stuff presently, but shall try to return all in hopefully only several more hours. Thank you again!

too many lines to pick from....
so I will fave and not bore you!

          • Cheeky Missy

Methinks you'd be hard pressed to bore me since you've an apparent fondness for cobbling together such fabulous concoctions via words, I'd never starve, even if suffering bouts of indigestion. Thank you very much for dropping by, and for the comment and fave.

              If you've a sweetheart, I can't imagine why you wouldn't, indeed!
