My Sister's Shadow

whats write for me

Almost two when baby brother arrived. Our sibling bond, a lifelong tide.

Childhood laughter echoes through the years, fiery youthful tears.

Eighteen's dawn brought change and growth, Maturity's wisdom, sibling love's expansive range.

Birthday feasts and exotic flavors shared, Love and care etched in memories we've shared. Georgia's journey marked a lifesaving stride, Protective love walked beside.

Life's trials refined us strong and free. Together rising, where we're meant to be. Graduation day sparked your inner fire, Nursing called, heart's desire.

Skillful rise, management's promising rank, Shining in your eyes, striving towards the peak. With every step, every fall, You stood for me, through it all.

Sisterly love shines forever true. Bond refined, renewed through the years anew.

I still look up to you.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is a tribute poem from baby brother to big sis. Though we fought like cats and dogs when we were young. Our bond matured as we grew. Now with parents passed, I often think of you. My hope is that your life and times treat you gently with care and grace.
