Notice of absence from arqios
πŸ•Š πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

Body betrays while caught in a tempest

The mundane morphs in peculiar ways

A silent storm stirring within you brews

With each surge, it claims a piece of you.

The office now a swaying deck

Unsteady ground, a wretched mess

Fingers clutch with fierce might

Against this inner sea’s harsh battle.

Eyes search for anchors in the gloom

Against the tides, the waves that tower

Each heartbeat echoes stormy tales

Each breath a ship in windless expanse.

In this struggle, churning chaos prevails

Turbulent thoughts, relentless strains

Yet, within, a warrior stands tall

Facing nature's wild challenges.

May calm return, like dawn’s light

And your path steady once more

After every storm, calm follows -

Assurance you can endure anything.

Well Good Luck. While I'm not trying to minimize your experience, (I didn't know you lived up there) I in general am quite bored with it as we have had nothing much else on the news (sandbagging preparations etc) for the past week. My point is that they only classify this one as a category two, when in far North Queensland they regularly have categories 3 and four, which gain brief news items. Maybe because fewer people and Murri (indigenous) live in those regions.....
Take care - look after yourselves.

I know how you feel. Been in category 3s and 4s all my life, so know where you’re coming from. The glamourising and sensationalising does not end there. Perhaps they need to pander to their sense of self importance as gatekeepers of the woke generation or whatever. Down here we’re ready to ride our current wave. 🌊 thanks kindlyπŸ™πŸ»πŸ•Š

Been there many times mate. Although on this side they are called hurricanes. They are a nuisance it's the tornados inside them that worry me. Wishing you well. Be safe

The cyclone may be advancing towards you and I wish you well, but this poem I see as a struggle against inner turmoil. There is much chaos here and I see strength riding high through the storm. A poem of battle and survival into calmer waters. Well penned. The struggle felt.
