[Neville's allusion roused this; I used to write annual pieces while still at home where the Magnolia tree inspired such effusions as must be for all her show and silky petals blushing.]
I Had to Be Romantic
(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCLVI)
Magnolia as a queen in her right, scents
Spring's warming airs whenas Favon'us'd hail,
Until souls must half swoon, her satin trail
Of deep pink petals like a virgin's dense
With import, blushing as a bride from thence,
Til, where bold Summer enters, she'll detail
The lesser consorts of mere men, t'avail
Kentucky blue grass with a carpet hence.
Oh! how her annual romance woos as t'were,
And leaves me rev'ling in her show 'neath blue
Heavns' fav'ring glance, though nary suitor stir,
These happy rites of Spring, with poets to
Regale my quiet solace, what endure
As if, oh LORD, all speaks anon of You.

Yes?
Come, What Am I Missing?
(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCLVII)
How purest blue heavns look benign, the trail
To yonder vis'ble by their light from hence,
Where sparrows play upon the deck, a sense
Of sweeter hours in tow despite the tale
Of whitest snow which yet remains, nor'd fail
Before the sun's hot glance, though puddles fence
The path with fragile hope, is't? for intents,
As if by subtle measures t'would prevail.
Where lo, July might want soup as it were,
That must be chilled; where Feb'ry begs it too,
Put on the pot: tomato needs in tour
But onion, butter, chix broth for th'ado,
And time upon the stove, milk later stir
In, garlic bread craft too? LORD, we wait You.
