Desert sand beneath me
Soaking up the blood
Thinking of my children
Brighton beach
My wife
My life.
A day out in peacetime
Ice cream
Summer sun
Before a madman
Started war
Now it has begun.
My life ebbs
Slowly from me
Upon a foreign land
Remembering that
Family day out
Upon Brighton sand.
