I may say I'm ok

Tony36

I may say I'm OK

But in truth

I am dying inside

I may say I'm OK

But in truth

I am lost and afraid

Just because I say I'm OK

Doesn't mean that I am

I may not have words to describe my true feelings

I may say I'm OK

That I feel on top of the world

But in truth

Be falling into an emotional pit

I may say I'm OK

That I'm the strongest I've ever been

But in truth

Be emotionally weak and scared

Just because I say I'm OK

Doesn't mean that I am

I may not have words to describe my true feelings

Saying Ok may be from not believing that anyone cares or wants to know, or not trusting that exposing vulnerability is wise, maybe that it will hurt others, or that they just can't do anything about it. Whatever you have picked a scab off a common human greeting and response that we all feel and I hope that some day it will heal. Good write Tony

Yeah , sometimes when people ask me am I ok I say , yeah I am but really im not .. I just don’t feel like talking about how I truly feel , or I mention it a little bit but not say a lot . I think sometimes we’re not always comfortable or feel like talking about how we feel .. depends I guess

That's when you can express your "not ok"s in poetry...then it doesn't matter who sees it, its yours.
