Stand Clear: Political Commentary.

Doggerel Dave

Notice of absence from Doggerel Dave
I do return sometimes... occasionally...

The President of the US of A

Appears to cause headaches every day.

A new methodology cannot you feel -

Negotiating hard makes him a deal

While most of the world with mutter and rant

Cannot keep up with him without a pant.

Right now understand this at any rate:

Democrats served him to us on a plate

As they speak only to a select few.

(An old contender was nothing new

When she called the rest, to be quite blunt

Deplorables! They’re voters, you silly cunt.)

Divide Democrat policies into two

Internal and external, so to view:

External policy - just one act will do -

Afghanistan withdrawal – none had a clue.

US shouldn’t have been there anyway,

But out without warning? Why not betray

All those who had hope for a better life

With American involvement free of strife?

That kind of decision must have extended

Internally too and so was ended

A slumber at the wheel not to be mended

With fresh promises, fresh delivery;

This fail has left the world quite shivery.

Now read this new guy: Loathsome he might be

But would the Arab states be forced to see

The Palestinian’s fate without the threat

Of a Gaza cleanout and a Trump asset?

How about the Ukraine? Well who can tell?

Now perhaps we’re all on the way to hell.

It’s far more complicated than all that

Says the reader who will go into bat

As somebody closer to the Godhead

Of that powerful nation which may have lead

Us all into peril at end of day………

And I anyway need to have a say!

……………As above…………….

What happens there could very easily affect every living thing on the planet .. As far as I am concerned he is exactly what your 86th word in refers to sir ..

    • Doggerel Dave

Well thanks for that, Neville. I counted it twice and do believe I and you most probably located the term in question. Now since it referred to a female politician, I had intense reservations about its use, as I did not wish to be accused of sexism or misogyny as a side issue. Intended to substitute ‘aunt’ which would have sorta rhymed, but still not sure if I would have avoided….and so on….

      • Neville

there are no side issues .. it's an out n out fact .. but I got you and your back covered anyway 👍

I'm too close to see the eventual outcome of all this. I feel like I'm the blind man feeling the elephant's tail thinking it to be a rope and not knowing that I'm about to be sat on. Maybe in a thousand years, if we survive as a race, we will know better if he was an Augustus or a Nero.

        • Doggerel Dave

Think you got what I was on about, Soren. Impossible to know, but it's imponderable at this stage. Though I haven't got many expectations.
Encountered the elephant/blind men analogy in some Buddhist writings, Hindu too.?

          • sorenbarrett

There are many things I like about the Hindu beliefs although not a follower. Time will tell if we survive.

There is a lot of hard and sad truths in this write, and it's worrying times for the world as we currently know it. The biggest warning signs to me are his refusal to condemn the aggressors as that is what he is and wants to be, example does the world think he would of treated Putin like that and got away with it, well written and thought provoking write

            • Doggerel Dave

Thanks for that, mate. I had a case of the screaming hab-dabs after this plus several days of news, and spent the afternoon in an attempt to sort my what I considered rational reservations out.

              • Poetic Licence

                You are very welcome

              • Jerry Reynolds

                A good write, Dave.
To all my friends: when you view America, don’t just look at individuals. Look at the whole of us. We divide ourselves into two groups: quality folks who matter and those who don’t. We are a narcissistic people with a bipolar disorder. We’re experiencing a psychotic break. Look at the symptoms: wild flights of ideas, manic responses to unwanted questions, feelings that everyone is plotting against you, threats of violence, visions of grandeur.
You’ll need to figure out how to do it on your own.

                • Doggerel Dave

Thanks for that, Jerry. Context is all. I feel I should turn your entry here into a bookmark and read it before I settle down to the next piece of disastrous news…..
Please know I’m very grateful for your analysis – even if you do ultimately cast us out to do it on our own…..!!!

                  • Jerry Reynolds

Hi Dave, I probably should have left that line out.

                    • Doggerel Dave

Don't think so Jerry - I thought it a great artistic touch which completed the rest of the picture. A true portrayal of current attitudes emanating from the Oval Office.

                      I remain very grateful.

                    • Doggerel Dave

I've just noticed I've made (puff puff) the 'Trending Now' ladder of excellence - neva thought I'd get there! lol

                    • Doggerel Dave

                      Told ya all it was in the rough;
Attempted a tidy today - hope it makes even more sense....

                    • Cheeky Missy

Okay?! [I did notice our favorite Trump supporter skedaddled out of here long ago in January, as if the inauguration signaled a nightmare here he was sensible enough to avoid; whereas you know me, haha, I haven't changed since my toddling years where my mother was appalled to watch me walk through messes as if they did not exist.] That said, thank you very much for your beautifully phrased assessment of perceived reality, rendered excellently with nigh exquisite imagery and a veritibly haunting poignancy.

                      • Doggerel Dave

Thanks for your input, Missy. I've lost track of all the wollopers here who constantly prefer 'Love' to the world's realities.. So someone who goes a little further shouldn't be hard to identify, and yet... (whisper to me privately who? lol).
I'm happy for anyone who lives in the US to give me a big tick, although I still feel I should have had the right to vote in your elections…
                        Many thanks for your attention.

                      • Tristan Robert Lange

I'm with Neville. Pluck 45. Pluck 47. 86 is his number and your 86th word describes him very nicely! Sorry I came late to this, was a rough week this past week! But hey, I've joined in now 😅
