Though I stand on solid ground no basis for security is found
All around a raging sea yet not a drop to drink I do see
Black as night in bright of day flawless eyesight blinds the way
In perfect logic flaws perceived, solid faith melts deceived
Bent is the straight line, black the light that guides the design
Whispered truth echoes loud, off deaf ears of a hard headed crowd

Could be sleight of hand, weโre too engrossed at whatโs presented to notice the sidelines ๐๐ป๐
Indeed what you see is not always what you get, but what you expect is what you see. Thanks for the read and the comment it is always most appreciated.

No matter what is in front of us sometimes it can be hard to see and even harder to hear. Beautiful. ๐น
Thanks so much Teddy yes it is true and sometimes we don't want to see or hear and by our beliefs can't see or hear.
The double sided coin of not always getting what you see, as we only see what we want to see, enjoyed the read

The hard headed crowd. No man is an island, and yet here in this write I saw a real struggle going on against dark forces. One man against the crowd. Full of imagery and thought provoking lines. Well penned.
Thank you so much Cassie your read and comment are most valued
Nicely done, Soren, Your poem explores the paradoxes and contradictions inherent in human perception and belief. It suggests that even when we think we are on solid ground, proper security is elusive, and our understanding of truth and reality can be distorted. It seems to seek to provoke thought about the nature of truth and the complexities of human understanding, encouraging readers to question their own perceptions and beliefs. It serves as a reflection on the challenges of finding clarity in a world filled with contradictions.
