Evening

Ellen Marsell

I love this deep calm
who moving into my home
like a communion
between invisible and sensible.
This warmth that caresses
the stories of these cities
that surround me.
Some go toward the dream
others wake up
or never sleep at all ...
Quiet music of the present moment
that's the vesperal message.
When in the tumultuous streets
of the mind everything purrs
like a cat curled up in a ball...

This piece captures the quiet magic of evening beautifully. There’s something deeply familiar in the way the world slows down, yet remains alive in its own rhythm. A reflective, intimate poem.

          I enjoyed reading.
