The Water.
The water gently flows
Slowly caresses your aching feet.
The chill runs up your legs.
Awakening your tired body.
Alertness sounds in your mind.
Calmness descends in the dark.
The weight becomes lighter.
Your thinking is clearer.
The water flows back and forth.
Nudging thoughts in your head.
With each gentle caress.
The past is eased away.
Your soul becomes lightened.
The heart has room to breathe.
Hope is slowly rekindled.
The eyes no longer cry.
After time the water recedes.
It’s done its job and cleansed.
Replaced despair with hope.
Brought you back from the dead.
Stand on your refreshed feet.
Feel like a young boy again.
As the water disappears.
Tomorrow now, holds no fears.

A fine write PL.
Thank you, have a great day
I was not friend with water. One said to me 'Don't walk under that ladder; it's bad luck'. I said 'Rubbish,' and walked under it. A window cleaner's bucket of water fell on me head' Doh! LOL.
Revenge of the bucket
Water, one of the four basic elements of old. It cleanses, is powerful and flexible. Used as a symbol of cleansing of sins in baptism in Christianity. The Tao speaks of its qualities. Listen to Melville who devotes chapters on its metaphor. A wonderful and powerful poem T.

Wonderfully refreshing when these days only wishing thinking is available 🙏🏻🕊
Sadly they are not often, enjoy the rest of your day
Yes, making them all the more precious 🙏🏻🕊️

Wishful thinking is fun to do my friend, and this got me thinking wishfully. Thank you for that. The idea of the waves rolling over your feet and the healing feeling the ocean generally has when in it...barring when its rough...really pulled off well here my friend. And it brought me to the beach in my mind...which is never a bad thing. This need not necessarily be about the ocean, but that is the image I had when I read it. Well done! 🌹👏

Water means everything to everything.
Failed as a beverage, however.
Thank you for your kind feedback, enjoy the rest of your day
I came across an article that was saying that death (of the body) begins in the legs. Your poem brought back some sweet childhood memories. Thank you!
Now, what did Bruce Lee say ? "Be like water." And of course, I don't think he meant stagnant water. Flowing water!
Thank you for your comment, hope you have a wonderful weekend
Fascinating. The images gradually conjuring a sense of drowning in the seas, I become aware of the unstated detail carefully presented to effect. Winsome and charmingly rendered with nigh exquisite imagery and a hauntingly painful poignancy. Thank you for sharing. Methinks I know the answer.
