Devil By Your Side.
Your continuous thoughts say, you’ve been wronged.
They inflict all the pain and have removed your pride.
The furnace of anger inside is becoming too strong.
Your always accompanied with the devil by your side.
You know you did not deserve what anyone did to you.
Why this all happened, you still truly don’t understand.
Everything you said they did, turned out to be the truth.
Always by your side, the devil takes you by the hand.
Your mad head tells you two wrongs, will make it right.
The desire for revenge grows stronger & deeper inside.
Carefully planned you have the abusers in your sights.
Your always accompanied with the devil by your side.
The time now is ready for revenge is willingly delivered.
All those evil thoughts in your head have gone to plan.
The torment inside gradually starts to fade and wither.
Always by your side the devil takes you by the hand.
After the revenge is done the remorse starts to set in.
You now understand two wrongs never make a right.
Slowly but surely the guilt becomes to overwhelming.
Now you are accompanied with an Angel at your side.
Sometimes you have to be brave and just let things be.
A heart full of revenge will not make you a better man.
As hard as it is to except, what happened is now history.
Then with the Angel by your side you walk hand in hand.

Great write! Revenge is one of those drugs that leaves you feeling temporarily high only to fall into addiction and the ravishes of hate. Nicely written this poem switches off the pairing of devil and angel to provide a good balance nicely crafted

Powerful poem, my friend. Truthfully, I have seen this happen in real time, Tobani. The person went to jail for murdering someone who abused them as a child. That person today is a public speaker and helping people like them find help and support in moving past their pain and suffering toward healing and making a positive impact.
