The Pearl Fisher's Lament

Ksey_Gan

In the radiance of the moonlit night I saw only her,

And a wonderful voice sounded like a many-stringed harp.

In the fragrant silence those glamorous sounds flowed

And dreams and desires awakened deep in my soul.

The stars in the sky twinkled over the dozing earth

And she, removing the veil, suddenly appeared before me.

Oh, gentle glances, endless delights,

Oh, where are you, my dream, behave?

Where are you, dreams of love and happiness.

Farewell forever, dream,

Farewell, dream of love!

Isis comes to mind goddess of moon and fertility, healing goddess of the night. This poem is seductive and most sensual in a nonsexual way. Very nicely penned
