Alien Song

Accidental Poet

Got to thinking today

As I listened to a song

If aliens were to hear it

Might they feel the urge to sing along

Would they feel

The rhythm and the beat

And If they had them

Tap their fingers, stomp their feet

Do they feel and hear the music

Same as we do

Does it move them in the same way

Get them in a groove

Would they sway back and forth

Dance with each other

Feel a passion

Inner and outer

Maybe they have

Their own way to express

A sound of personal joy

With instruments of happiness

Their own poets who compose

Words to inspire a world unknown

The concept of love

The many ways to be shown

As I stare upon distant stars

And listen so intently

Is that an alien voice I hear

Trying to communicate with me
