loved

lunarchloedip

he laces fingers

between mine

and pulls my hands closer

i think, this time

the doubt really could be over

and he brushes my jaw

softly

gently

frustratingly tenderly

i find

i can’t breathe

he looks at me

really looks at me

not with hungry eyes

he’s not searching for things

i’ve been trying to hide

he’s looking at me

like i’m good enough

it almost makes me

feel good enough

and his pretty mouth

when he pulls me in

is possibly the purest thing

i think i’ve ever known

and he kisses me

until my lips are pink

until my cheeks are pink

until i forget how to think

until i reach the brink

of euphoria

i cannot believe

i have found him

but i feel so lucky

to have found him

and as he pulls me

beneath the blanket

and i stare

at the yellow glow reflecting on his face

i can’t see

how his intentions could be misplaced

i think i’ve finally

found a safe space

i think i finally feel loved.

Well described the feelings that go with initial passion and engagement of emotion with someone you want to care about. A lovely write
