Don't Do It

Alex PB

Notice of absence from Alex PB
Writin' more and more poems is my job,
I shall write when Shakespeare is back.

She said don't send me music,
I won't listen to it,
She said don't send me movies,
Cause I won't view it,
Apart from text and voice,
I ain't hear nothing from you,
Don't even send me poetry,
I am allergic to it,
Not to poetry in general,
Just yours cause there's something to it,
But even from those,
I need a break from it,
Nobody can control me,
But I can control you,
I like me freedom free,
So don't try to change me,
Social battery empty when I get around you,
I tolerate you but that doesn't mean I love you,
You are lucky that you met me,
You are lucky that I don't leave,
You are lucky that I give you these chances,
You are lucky I don't go for a guy with more cheese,
But don't do it, don't let me go,
What better option do you have to love?
What better option do you have to choose?
I'm the most toxic, the worst, but you'll still lose.

Revelations of what a person is and still expectations. A poem that is more open than closed and more observation than feeling. Lovely

      Thank you 🙂

To me that comes across as a female who is abusing and controlling their partner, believing that they have no other choice but to except it, nicely written and expressed

You could also read it as someone who's been hurt and keeping the person at a distance but at the same time not wanting to let that person go

          Very true
