midnight courage

arqios

Notice of absence from arqios
๐Ÿ•Š ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

I love the wee and trippy hours of
after-midnight when these glass slippers
lay glistering in soft moonlight
while weary dreamers poise inked quills

to carve their thoughts onto pale parchment
from a woozy head -- too early in the day
to be about one's inescapable routines
too late of a night to do all else but swoon.

This is the cherished witching-hour in a life
where most everything is held, transfixed
in the baffling clarity of glad cerebration--
intoxicated Muses dance in celebration.

Ah I know those hours well my friend. So poetically stated in these few lines. Hours where one can write without guilt or being disturbed. Hours stolen from sleep and dreams to put them on paper for others to share. Your word choice is exquisite.

I do most of writing over the night when the world appears at peace and sometimes accompanied by a libation or two to free the mind, enjoyed the read

So feverishly the lyrical wheels turn in the dark of night. Quite often when I write, it is when the Sun is out of sight. Very well penned arqios. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

This is often where I exist, my friend. That liminal space between life an death, reality and surreality, where the muse calls on those courageous enough to stay awake past delirium into the magical moments of the crisp, creative, conscious night. Well done on this! Well done! You've described my home! ๐Ÿ–ค๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ‘

definitely worth picking on - yes the muse does strike me sometimes at midnight, or sometimes after reading a good forward.
                                  thanks for the inspiration
