Sleep Terrors 3

KTay

Just woke up

Drenched in sweat again

Heart pounding

In my chest again

Tears streaming

Down my face again

Screaming out

I cannot breathe again

More time

That I'm awake again

Will I ever

Sleep in peace again

My eyes

Open wide

I'm so damn tired

Bloodshot

Blacked out

Hung in bags of fire

Sleeping pills

Benadryls

With a vodka back

Still waking up

When the terrifier attacks

Snortin lines

When I rise

Cause I don't wanna go back

Contradicting remedies

My disordered mind

Tempted

With a lobotomy

The shotguns fire

Blast it

How much longer

Must I go

Without a dream

Restful peace

Full on slumber

Eight hours of wonder

Fuck it

I'd settle for three

Wow, this expresses so much; the pure terror waking up from the nightmares; the agony of night after night of disturbed sleep and the insurmountable exhaustion that follows; the barrage of listed remedies showing the desperation of trying anything and everything; "screaming out, I cannot breathe again....will I ever sleep in peace again?" Very moving
