I feel replaceable; erasable
Everything that I can do, AI can do better.
Soulless painters, artificial minds
Soon to be bodies; what's next for mankind?
If they look like us, talk like us, think like us,
Then who are we? What's left of our humanity?
How do I cope, when I can't be the best;
When it's just me and me against the machine?
Well, nothing can replace a human being;
If you've ever loved somebody, you know what I mean
And technology's just a tool;
It's how we use it that can be cool or cruel-
When they put machines in factories,
It gave folks quite a scare,
But we still have our salaries,
Now iphones are everywhere
They got rid of horse-drawn carriages,
But then we all got cars;
They learned how to fight viruses
And someday we'll conquer Mars-
So I'm hoping we'll adapt;
We've done it in the past.

- Comment from author about the poem: Growing up, I was obsessed with reading dystopian science fiction novels, and now it feels like we're living in one. What's the future of AI and robotics and the digital world? How far are we going to take gene editing and other medical/scientific advancements? It's exciting times, but it's also pretty scary.

A great write raising the questions and fears that too share. Maybe we will get to the point that we will not be able to tell the difference between machine and man and they to will have love and emotions and then it will make no difference when they are programed to be less than perfect so we can't tell. A fave
Thanks soren; it's comforting to think that what gives art the human touch is our emotions
A write that will relate to many who have the questions and fears, it is the speed it is happening that i find frightening, nicely written, enjoyed the read
Thank you; it really is happening at an exponential speed now
You are very welcome
