We're living on a pagan slave planet,
Justin got one boob out on Janet.
Symbolism is dotted everywhere,
I'm really not going crazy, I swear.
Is Easter to celebrate Ēostre or Jesus?
All of these eggs are looking so sus.
Harkens back to a fertility goddess,
No one questions any of this mess.

Even the date is hard to place the first Sunday after the first full moon following the vernal Equinox what type of calendar is that? A fun write and so right.
Exactly! All Pagan / Satanic. Thank you.
I suppose it has to be SOME date - Christmas and Easter. Easter calculated each year as Soren says.
Indeed.
Def a conversation starter, my friend! 🤯 And you’re right—Easter does take its name from Ēostre, a springtime fertility goddess, and yeah…eggs and bunnies aren’t exactly mentioned in the Gospels. 😂 That said, seeing the conversation below on the timing of Easter, it is actually based on Passover, which follows a Hebrew lunar calendar—so it's tied more to Jewish tradition than to pagan holidays.
And an interesting bit of history: when missionaries like Patrick, Columba, and Aidan brought Christianity to places like Ireland, the Picts, etc., they didn’t erase the local culture. They found ways to share the Gospel that connected with what people already knew. That approach actually worked. Earlier efforts, like Ninian’s, tried to copy the Roman way—top-down, forceful—and they didn’t last.
So it’s kind of a mix. Layers on layers...nuance...as is often the case in life. Just figured I'd add some historical flair to the conversation, my friend. Happy Easter! 🐣😉
Wow thank you for that information, I didn't know some of that stuff, very interesting I must say. Same to you pal!
Indeed. Call me a fan of history, philosophy, theology, and...of course...poetry. You are most welcome, my friend. Glad I could contribute to the conversation. 😊
The hypocrisy and evolution of religons is a fascinating topic. The Christians were tricky in the middle ages no?
I agree, this is why I just say that I'm a believer and not religious.
