Let’s talk about the sun going down in your eyes,

Let’s talk about the silent years that came as a surprise,
That waited there for such a long time before flying.
Now I feel like something is dying.
Let’s talk,
Have you done your hair differently,
Let’s talk,
I always liked it blonde but pink is colourful I suppose.
You might have asked if I would like it,
But I that’s okay I won’t fight it.
Talking, Talking, Talking it is so very hard,
Let me entertain you pick a card,
Oh the ace of diamonds you always were a winner.
Now it’s getting late are you making dinner?
Let’s chat,
We can chat about those ‘phone calls
and that guy that keeps on calling.
Let’s chat,
You are allowed to have friends I suppose,
But I feel like I’m falling.
Chatting, Chatting, Chatting it is so very hard,
Let me entertain you pick a card,

Oh you have a new dress. Are you going out?

I’ll get my coat and come with you.

I wish we had a chance to talk.

A poignant and strong message. Well written it lays its message one step at a time and before the reader realizes it they are at the top. A message that everyone can identify with in one way or another. Some fail to communicate out of fear, others deceit, some for anger, others ignorance or simply not caring. It doesn't matter it always leads to divisions and deterioration. A powerful message. Well done in poetic story.

What is not talked about is what gives this excellent poem its power. I found the last stanza, unsettling in its mastery: 'Oh dear she's gone', and probably has been for a long time. As disturbing as it is in its excellence. Well done indeed.
