Tune: Vulpius / Gelobt Sei Gott
('Good Christians all, rejoice and sing')
John 20 v.24-29
**************
When Jesus to disciples came
One was not there, Thomas his name
They to him did say, make this claim
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
The said, We have the Lord now seen
He has gone, but He here has been
Though Thomas he was not so keen
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
He said, Unless I His hand see
And the print of the nails, so be
And touch His hands and side freely
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Unless I do so, I will not
Believe, but eight days thence their lot
Jesus again appeared, begot
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Begotten from the dead, and He
Said to Thomas, My hands, side, see
Peace to you all, know it is me
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Thomas did so, and then did say
My Lord and my God, e'en this day
I have seen you, the Life, Truth, Way
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Jesus said, Thomas, because you
Have seen me, you believed, 'tis true
Blessed they who have not seen me too
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

I tend to be a doubting Thomas too and this is a good hymn Orchi
Thank you SB. It's a pity Thomas is always labelled 'doubting'. If one of the other disciples had not seen Jesus the first time, it could have been Doubting Peter / John / etc. yet the odds were 10-1, as Judas Iscariot had gone by then.
BRAVO
Thank you T.
You're welcome
Indubitably no doubt a good write O🙏🏻🕊
Thank you A.
Welcome O 🕊️🙏🏻
Ah, Thomas. He gets such a bad rap. All the disciples doubted until they saw. Now there's alliteration. The Doubting Disciples. 🤣 Well done on this piece, Orchi! A fave. 🌹👏
Thank you T.
You are most welcome, Orchi!
Good one Orchi.
Thank you Gold.
