Tune: Abridge
('Be thou my guardian and my guide')
John 21 v.20-23
*******
Peter did turn around and see
Disciple, John he be
Peter asked Jesus, What shall be
Of this man, pray, tell me
Jesus said, If I will that he
Remain till I come, see
Till I return, but what to you
Is that? Follow me true
Then spread this saying, John should not
Die, this would be his lot
Yet Jeus did not to him say
You shall live here alway
But He said to Peter, If I
Will that he stay here nigh
Until I return, what to you
Is that? Follow me true

Nicely said Orchi it reminds me of reading these passages but in hymn form
Thank you SB.
Hmmm. Been sensing 21 at the root, shall we say, of your more recent, Easter-inspired poem. I love the in depth look at that particular chapter, my friend. Well done on this and on all of these! 🌹👏 A fave for sure!
Thank you T. I've been following some readings set for this Easter Week, about 3 of which are on John 21.
Indeed. You are most welcome, my friend!
Good one Orchi.
Thank you Gold.
Beautiful retelling! You've captured the essence of the biblical passage. Well written!!!!
