A Reckoning of Voices

History does not pause for breath,

it moves like morning,

inevitable yet unnoticed.

We carve decisions into it,

rough edges and second guesses,

but no moment stands untouched by the past.

Some call for restoration—

others dismantle, brick by brick,

rebuilding from what remains.

The voices collide,

wary of each retort.

      Ah, thank you OπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™πŸ»

Along with inevitable death history is something we can't change, it's happened, but the internal battles we have trying to or wishing we could change it go on, nicely written write

        Indeed, thanks so much PLπŸ™πŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

What is history but a memory. How valuable are mementos? To each his own. As like many other important questions there is no right answer. A fave for the depth of the thought in this piece

At least it isn't a stale memory that we memorise in school lessons; personal effects have textures, smells, sound and images as well, depending on what they are, so many triggers and sentimental attachments. Others are thrown and burnt at a pyre.... so many factors indeed.

So true. This is very well written and flow wonderfully along. Enjoyable read mi amigo. The differing views make an interesting life.

            • arqios

Aye, so many differing views... the Australian workplace and anywhere where people gather really is full of so many dissonant and often clashing views, it's a wonder how this nation keeps together. This past elections had a really interesting result as well.... but that's a can of worms I'd much rather go fishing with than brawl over the parliament floor.πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

Eight is the number of infinity .... infinitesimal barren sojourns and layovers...

Thought provoking!!! It effectively explores the themes of history and perspective.

              • arqios

Thanks Salvia, I am most appreciative of your time and considered comments. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

Learn the lessons of history or be doomed to repeat them. Yin and Yang, nice!

History was written by the winners arqios, what if the losers were right?

Then history wouldn’t probably repeat itself…. Wait, what!? πŸ•ŠπŸ™πŸ»

History remains the same throughout; only Ladies and Men's fashions change. A Poem well said.

Oh yeah, come to think of it, yeah. And even then fashion cycles around every 15-25 years or so... I remember the resurgence of bell bottoms, cigarette leg jeans, low-waist--high-waist jeans, etc. But yeah... just an offhand observation. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ
