My Father

James Michael

My Father who showed me the world as it should be. Strength, compassion and love his guide.  Always searching for what is good in life. Always knowing the truth of what is right. Having a family was a great gift for him. Having him in our lives was a greater gift. His spirit lives on. A life filled with the love from others. Eternal is the love he gave.

Good write JM. I recall we're not supposed to call priests 'Father', only 'Our Father in heaven' as the prayer starts off!

This one is for my father that took the place of my biological one. Sorry you were confused by the wording.

Thanks JM. I wasn't meaning that the poem implied you called priests 'Father'. It just made me think of that. šŸ™‚

A great tribute of love for a father. Nicely written I'm sure he would feel joy in its reading.

I’m certain that he is in heaven knowing the love we are feeling for him.
