What If?

Tristan Robert Lange

What if it is just us?
What if it is not just us?
Regardless, we are here.

What if there is a God?
What if there is no God?
Regardless, we are here.

What if life is all there is?
What if life is not all there is?
Regardless, we are here—

Living—

So, live your life;
Live it well.

                  We couldn't make up that name using certain accents or dialects. we couldn't say 'Oi be....' Aww! LOL.
                  And how did you know my real first name is Ken? heehee.

                    Existentialism at its finest? What it oddly triggered in me was John Paul Jones message to General Washington: "We have met the enemy and they are ours." But when I tried to begin that comment I couldn't see why or how on earth that made any sense with your latest, whence I deleted that comment. Just so you know. We seem indeed to have the moment wherein we stand, if that's what you're saying; and forsooth, let us live as we should...in the fear of the LORD, if only. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a none too subtly haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

                      I love the quote. It's always intriguing how poems can spark those things in us. As for your analysis, you are spot on as I see it. Indeed, always in fear of and deference to the Lord. Amen. May it be so. You are most welcome, Missy. Thank you for your time, understanding and friendship. All very much appreciated!!!

                        This reminds me of the Ferris Bueller quote "life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." We can spend hours of our lives with existential dread, with questions that may never be answered, but in the end, what really matters is how well we spent the time we knew we did have. Thanks for sharing! โœจ๐ŸŒŒ
