As I reflect on you

Z7 Softens

Oh, the Moon is my reflection,

Oh, the Moon is yours too.

The Moon is our reflection,

As I reflect on you.

We reflect on each other;

We reflect from where we stand.

For we stand for one another

On united land.

We reflect all our colors

With stars on spangled banners—

Red, white, and blue,

Does it reflect on you?

We're on one big round orbit—

Perfect distance with perfect light,

A perfect albedo over this quiet night.

Too far, too cold—too close, too hot,

Not too much...

yet never forgot.

A perfect distance, perfect for life,

Guiding the tides in rhythmic patterns.

The seas rise as the giant marble soars,

A lantern above the ocean’s shores.

A mirror of the Sun’s great power,

Though we only have each fleeting hour.

Everything orbits each other,

Everything reflects one another.

Yet beyond this vast, endless space,

Life has found no other place.

The Moon is my reflection,

The Moon is yours too.

The Moon is our reflection,

As I reflect on you.
