The Mask

michaelpohl1006

Centre of the group, making everyone laugh,
A smile that will always last,
Jokes that would make you forget the past,
Only Very few will know it’s a mask,

A smile so big even family can’t see,
the pain that is lingering beneath,
The past won’t change, but the present is key,
Vision’s of the future, but it’s not a relief,

A past like he’s just screams confession,
Success to failure, in quick succession,

Doomed... with the burden of depression!!

The hardest task,
Is to rid of he’s thick mask!

We all wear a mask and sometimes many, one for each role. A good read

Everytime you open your wardrobe to pick an outfit you are subconsciously picking a Mask to go alone with the outfit.
I appreciate your time to read and comment.

Eyes have been called the windows of the soul, and whom will look in those shall know more than the fellow wearing a mask desires. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a poignancy which seems to beg for...help. Thank you for sharing.

A lovely write around the wearing and hiding behind the mask, relatable to many. The difficult part is choosing which mask to wear for each occasion, nicely expressed and written
