Between NO Coffee, Tangents, Perfection, and Oh Yeah

Cheeky Missy

...tomorrow, since failing to drink or pack joe today.

Guess I'll Finish the Coffee

(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCCCLIX)

The bushes' new growth lively green t'avail,
These low'ring region clouds whose rain is thence
A ghost which lingers for good taste or sense
Set off to cheerful shades as morning's pale
Eye watches calmly our mad haste, the veil
Of mists half haunts in teasing fashion hence,
And roast potatoes ne'er did taste fr'intents
As yummy as they do now, 'long the trail.
Leaves flutter like the flag oerhead in tour,
May's sense of life renewed so green, grey too
Does not feel quite so bad as erst, as't cure
Aught vision by sheer hope. Thy mercies new,
LORD, every morning are our mainstay; were
There else, we wait as all on only You.

Okay?

Call This a Tangent, Will You?

(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCCCLX)

From books to read or else exchange, to thence
A cond'ment bar, the face of Starbucks'd hail
Is that a better era? Aught detail
'Most subtly altered til I cherish hence
Aught feature more than ever, with a sense
Of all that artists loved likeas to scale,
What's left to add? Wish I could hang t'avail
Out in there longer, now it owns defense.
Me ain apartment nigh, why bother fer
All that, since what I have shall ver'ly do?
My laptop feigning death, all hope seems poor
In that respect, whence I shall dream anew.
T'was Daddy used to to take me there in tour,
Sans whom, oh LORD, what's left? I'll wait for You.

you know?

Ah, What Could Be More Perfect, Eh?

(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCCCLXI)

The card'nals teased til robins scolded, frail
As smiling to whose songs of courtship thence?
And if today resolves to own a sense
Of mournful grey, I'd nestle here t'avail
My soul, where green looks richer nor aught fail
Within the dawn of Summer, rain from hence
A dainty note and fragile, like pretense,
Thy mercies, LORD, in every last detail.
How yesterday seemed dark with woe as t'were,
The weekend like a saga I ne'er knew
Could haunt likeas it did, ill hounding poor
Hopes of a better day til I'd yield to
Its hand and beg for mercies, nor bestir
Me til the morrow. LORD, I would praise You.

Sh, don't even think it.

Alas, Tis Never Say Never Is't?

(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCCCLXII)

That rainy pall hangs oer the thought of whence,
My niece and boyfriend quite the pair, oh they'll
Be perfect if they tie the knot. When had I bail?
Or did I never? I ask too much from hence?
By this late hope's foresworn, ne suitor thence
But used or else used, yes, by that detail
Of widowed or divorced, nor bach'lors hale
Enough til romance is the light fr'intents.
If I'd bewailed the waste of time as t'were
This morning, traffic halts me sans aught cue,
Til we waste one hour just five minutes fer
All that, from home. It profits naught tae stew,
Yet oh! I canna help me. Call it poor,
But, LORD, wherefore?! Redeem me now, won't You?

    You are timeless in prose
I Love love the way you convey an older poetic style with words of today and how you approach it all together! I would but your book!
Give me Whitman, Frost and you!

    • Cheeky Missy

Aww you're entirely too sweet and kind altogether. Thank you so very much! I asked a published poet over a decade ago about the business of getting your work into print and he honestly advised me against it. He told me about how it actually goes, and I had to agree. Maybe after I expire someone will publish my work, pity I won't be able to indulge in a volume of my own, if they do. Thank you again!

There are so many magazines that you could submit too! I say pick one or two! You are really that good!

        • Cheeky Missy

Thank you! I'll look in to that.

No coffee!? And there is rain everywhere to boot. β˜•οΈ 🌧 pick all, enjoy all!

              • Cheeky Missy

If I hadn't limited my indulgence I'd have had it, but that is a long story. Thank you so very much!

The rains have come over the way, expecting a whole week of it. Flood warnings in several areas as well... not ours but not fun for those who are in the way of disaster.

                  • Cheeky Missy

Yikes! I hope you can manage to stay dry, keep the fires burning, be cozy, and have tea and poetry to romance the weary minutes.

                    • arqios

Oh definitely got that covered weathering a lifetime of inclement weather... you'd think I was from good old literary England in a past life or something. Thanks kindlyπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™πŸ»

                      • Cheeky Missy

You're very welcome! Myself, I cherish rainy weather if I can hole up indoors and do as I've recommended.

Oh yes there are wonderful rain time activities both indoor and outdoor (of course with a modicum of safety precautions) β˜”οΈ after all, Singing in the Rain isn't a classic for nothing... 🀩

                          • Cheeky Missy

Hahaha! Yep! Hi ho! Let's sing...
