Extraordinary

Neilton

People come and people go

For how long

Will we endure

The pain of feeling abandoned

By people who claim

To be

Something called

Extraordinary ?

By people who claim

To love you

To know you

By people who claim

To fathom

Your deepest thoughts

Your qualms and fears

By people who claim

To be by your side

'Til they die

With no exception

They will fight

At war with you

Every single night

By people who make

Promises

They can not keep

Or do not even conceive.

I'm always surrounded by an imbecile

Who can not see

Beyond the trees

And can not even understand the difference

Between love and ill will

In reality they only

stop me from seeing

The truth

How they would sacrifice me

On the altar of their whim

To add some importance

In their misery's army

That's why I'm always running

To escape from their evil eyes

Save myself from their

psychotic deranged mind

Yet they still somehow inflame

My qualms and fears

And they pilfer

What's left

Of my ill-fated luck

A lonely yet a kind heart

Extraordinary people

Hanker to destroy my cities

To break my bones in pieces

'til my scars bleed unceasingly

'til I beg them to give grace

'til I'm blue in the face

So that I can be

 the one to blame

The one who makes mistakes

"Be yourself" they all shriek in unison

And they cut my wings

Without shame

They can't make

My fears surrender

But they make them

Deeper

on another level

Extraordinary People destroy

my mansion

To show their ignorance

Proud of

their actions

They have zero importance

Extraordinary people

Destroy my kingdom

They are mean

Act like kids

Surround me

Force me

To be

Something called

Extraordinary

I despise people

Who Claim to be

Something called

Extraordinary

So if I ever come close

To their Extraordinarity

Lock me

in the most dreadful Bastille

Where all these Extraordinary people

Must suffer abhorrently

for keeps

Methinks that's why folk believe in "karma" and "comeuppance," yet I fail to find any ground for such a happy thought, nor even justification for the desire, although we want it so badly. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a painfully haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

There are a lot of such people in this world unfortunately. The poem highlights the ways that such people hurt others. Well written

Sadly way too many of these people in todays world, with their vast back catalogue of ways to continue to hurt us, nicely expressed and written
