JOY.

David Wakeling

Oh what joy there is in simple things,

The spider's web, the parrot's wings,

I have been with the sunlight,

That word, that twist of fate,

That spark that made the world,

It's still going after all this time,

Still the same old rodeo,

Something spoke across the universe,

Life was the wondrous reply.

Responsibility, duty or just joy,

Either way, confident or coy,

There is beauty hanging on every tree,

Like leaves of the Maple in symmetry,

Wonder in the baby’s smile,
Perhaps there is happiness awhile,

If time is taken away from the chore,

And be grateful when you see magic outside the door.

How easily we overlook the simple things that have the most beauty and importance. How often do we think of breathing. Loved the meaning in this poem

The world does not ask to be noticed, yet still, it hums.
A leaf sways, a bird turns, light shifts against the window—
      without urgency, without demand.
What if wonder was not something sought,
but a joy that is always remembered?

Joy to the world indeed as I wandered through this lovely poem, as if opening a door to the beauties of life. A poem and therein all that is joyous.

              My kind regards, David,

              Tony.
