Loving Me

Introverted Sage

Let me just play with this delusion for a moment
Can't seem to hide from these deep feelings so I'll own it
The Ravens and now the Hawks have all just flow in
Will I be blessed beyond belief or face atonement

It's like the message never comes in when I need
It's always lessons before blessings time to take heed
Lived with a cage around my heart now it's been freed
Removing the disguise - opening my eyes so I'll believe

They said love for me is just around the corner
Back to that nervous wreck always looking over my shoulder
Tests were sent to make my poor heart colder
Change is intact when I don't need to react
Heart and mind finding perfect order

It is the fear that is the hardest overcome
Hard to imagine the stakes getting from under that thumb
Had to put myself first you know, I Am number One
Blessings beyond belief is what's to come

The poem speaks of change and the fear of change. Well done with rhyme as well. Very nice.

A lovely write around the natural fear of change, letting themselves out of the protective cage they have built for themselves, nicely expressed and written

It's always a struggle it seems.
