I was fast asleep
Dreaming of many things
When into my dream he came,
My Dad came to me.
He left this earth thirty years ago
But he is always in my mind,
A man that I have always loved
And brought so much to me,
So much to the man I became.
And there he was again
Talking to me in my dream.
We spoke of music,
Music that has always been there,
Been there in my life
Because of this man.
We did so much together,
He showed me the beauty of Nature,
The value of respect to all.
He talked of now being back,
Being back with Mum,
He passed before her
But at her funeral he was there,
And I saw them dancing together
As they went into eternity together.
Now here he was again,
He came into my dream,
The man I loved.
But I had a regret
As I don’t think I ever told him,
Ever told him that I loved him.
So to you Dad I have three words,
“I LOVE YOU”

- Comment from author about the poem: My Dad was one of the worlds gentlemen and showed me how to live my life. He passed 17 years before my Mum but at Mum's funeral I have the piece on the video played and I saw Mum and Dad dancing to the music. In the book of remembrance y brother and I had written "PLAY YOUR MUSIC LOUDER DAD!"
