The poem masterfully embodies the resilient voice of an elderly individual, courageously embracing the complexities of daily life, memories, and the transformative power of time. It conveys a profound sense of hope and warmth, even in the face of adversity and the ominous threat of life's challenges, both literal and metaphorical. Moreover, your poem serves to underscore the vital importance of unbreakable familial bonds, the solace of a loving home, and the simple yet profound joys of life, while concurrently acknowledging the triumphs of aging and the beauty of cherished memories.
This poem elicited profound sadness within me, resonating deeply in my heart. It's challenging to navigate a world without familial support, yet simultaneously experiencing a sense of detachment. Aging can be particularly difficult without a support system or individuals to share memories of the past.

lol I wonder what it may have been a bit of mystery here, how wonderful so too is this wonderful language. 🌹

                              • sorenbarrett

Thanks Teddy just a poem of an old man who is not what he used to be and can't keep his thoughts together after two losses that he no longer recognizes. The dialect is a back hills type from the Appalachians.
