About Ascension Day
One defying gravity?!
Yes, but no surprise really
The same one - Jesus Christ
Who rose from the dead
So 'ascending' from a mountain is no problem for Him
But not to be sidetracked by that actual event
Not to over-emphasise that
But to realise the true reason for the Ascension
Jesus returning to His Father in heaven
Having done all that was in His Father's will for Him on Earth
Then promising to send us the Holy Spirit
In a 'few days hence'
To empower us, to enable us
To continue His ministry through us
In our words and deeds

Meanwhile, we try, KP, Fido and I
To defy gravity - but don't get far
Fido's the 'Bird-Dog', KP's the 'Bird-Trout'
And I'm the 'Bird-Man'
Do ya hear me, the echoing?
I just jumped off this clifffffff with me wiiiingggssss!
