Hey Funny man

Tony36

 Hey funny man

Up there dancing and clowning around

Hey funny man

With painted face, baggy clothes, and large shoes

But

When the show's over

The makeup and the costume removed

The person the audience doesn't see

A man of deep sparrow

A man of gloom

A past that haunts him

Sadness and doom

We all hide behind our masks and only take them off when no one's around. Nicely done Tony

Aww!!! I never knew. Turns out I was live on TV in grade school, at least according to what my mother related and my memories, and clowns were curiosities, because you couldn't see their faces, and they were adults. For all that's been said in that regard, how capably you wring my heart with his keen sorrows. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing. P.S. if we will look in people's eyes when dealing with them we won't be so blind to their real cases.

Never judge a book by its cover or a clown by his/her makeup. Wonderful job, Tony! 🌹👏

Sad, but mostly true. A big reason why I write. Nice work.
