Cumulus siprit smoke speaks
And it will be heard.
Puff clouds and wisps
On the painter’s canvas.
Trees dancing in the wild breeze.
The soul’s at ease.
We’re butter.
Flies show us the truth.
We long for beauty
When all it brings:
Death.
Fuck the cocoon.
Reverse metamorphosis.
Celebration of the caterpillar.
We are all cats
On a
Pillar.

Now Tristan you got me on this one. I thought I knew the majority of words but siprit caught me off guard. As for cats on a pillar, cats may look imprisoned on a tall pillar but they descend easily and raise easily. Like clouds they sit untouched there. Clouds constantly change in their metamorphosis to rain drops that then again evaporate to new clouds. Butter and flies not butterflies that do metamorphosize . clever play on words there. Yes cats on a pillar another clever word play becoming that caterpillar. Yes death is the truth for all and yet in this metamorphosis springs new life like a phoenix in different form not a caterpillar but butterfly not a person but a worm. We all feed off of each other and so become immortal in another form.
Indeed. Thank you my friend for this brilliantly astute and insightful read and analysis. I am always grateful for your time, thoughts, and support my friend! Much appreciated! 🐛🌀🪞🐈⬛
Really love the clever wordplay!!! You're not just playing with words; you're weaponizing them to challenge traditional metaphors like butterflies - a symbol of beauty , growth, freedom to offer a darker , more complex view. Very well written dearest Tittu 🌹
Now...how in the world did I skip right over your comment? How rude of me! 🤣 Thank you Salvia. And wow, your ability to read, digest, and analyze a poem is second to none. I mean that. Your analysis is very astute indeed and am glad you picked up on that. I am grateful the poem delivered and for that rockin' name you've bestowed on me, dearest friend. 🐛🌀🪞🐈⬛
This is a very clever write and play on words and there common excepted meaning. The essence to me is that everything feeds of off one another, raising the question do we really ever die, great write, enjoyed
Thank you, my friend, for your time and your insights into the poem. Glad that it delivered. Much appreciated! 🐛🌀🪞🐈⬛
You are very welcome
I must admit, I didn't understand it.
But enjoyed the read!
Indeed, no worries. Glad it delivered regardless of understanding. Much appreciated, my friend! 🐛🌀🪞🐈⬛
Apparently it was "cat or pillar," eh? And the death which resurrects into a breath-taking beauty is being celebrated in a twisted fashion, eh? Fascinating and curiously rendered with excellent imagery and a very haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.
Indeed. It came from the reflection that a butterfly\'s life is mostly spent as a caterpillar. Then they go into that cocoon, transform...live up to 24-48 hours and die. That was the kernel that sparked the poem. I was outside watching a caterpillar (Gypsy Moth...as opposed to a butterfly), but that made me think of the mysterious butterfly and this poem was born. And I do love me some good word play 😏. Thank you so much, Missy, for your time, insights and appreciation. 🐛🌀🪞🐈⬛
Good write Cat! lol. I of course wouldn't get any deep philosophical meaning to poems. Well, I only got 3 brain cells to use. lol.
LOL! Thank you my friend. Within each of those holy trinity of brain cells is an entire universe to explore. Filled to the brim with high seas for Popeye to travel and full of Siths for Obi Wan to fight. The question becomes, how can Popeye row so far, and what gives Obi Wan such a firm grip on his saber? They never do really answer those questions in either story. #JustSaying 🤣
Argh! Good thing they never answer those questions. lol.
A. VERY. GOOD. THING. LOL!
Fantastic work. I love it.
Thank you, Thomas! Much appreciated, my friend! 🐛🌀🪞🐈⬛
I definitely see some seriously great lyrics in here, love your play on words 🌹
