What is perfect

sorenbarrett

Perfection a dew drop, a crystal ball with a magnifying top
Its surface a rainbow shows endless colors without stop
Transparent, life giving, forgiving, bends but doesn't break
Born on wings of night, pearls in sun's light, wash nature's eyes awake

Manna from heaven, nature's bread leaven, a baptism that glistens
Cleansed of night's death, in misty morning's  breath, to a choir of drops listens
Creeping into the ground without a sound to its place of birth
Each path taken just to reawaken, trapped in a cycle on this earth

Thus, the dew's journey started from the earth, went up to the clouds, fell to earth and returns up. It is indeed a cycle. A cycle that is vital for many living creatures.

Your poem masterfully weaves the concept of perfection through the majestic lens of water, particularly in the breathtaking form of dewdrops. It celebrates the resplendent beauty, life-giving properties, and cyclical nature of water, underscoring its vital role in nurturing life and its profound connection to the natural world. This poem also serves as a poignant reminder of the beauty and significance of water in the natural world, urging us to cherish the small wonders of life that contribute to the larger cycle of existence. It illuminates themes of renewal and interconnectedness, inviting introspection on our relationship with the natural world.

It's funny, because I can almost imagine this is what God saw looking down following Creation and saying, "It is good.". The way the earth nourishes itself and sustains the cycles of birth, life, death, rebirth...awe-inspiring! As is this poem. Perfect in my book and a fave. 🌹👏
