My dear

Elizabeth Ross 4

Last night, it came in a dream,
With a suitcase of hopes and a distant gleam.
To a land unknown, I made my way,
The flight was long, but faith did stay.

Then suddenly, I saw your face,
Blue eyes that time could not erase.
Like Juliet seeing Romeo near,
A love once lost now felt so clear.

I walked to you and said my name,
You spoke yours, I felt a flame.
In that moment, love made sense,
Like fate had dropped the last defense.

We shared a path, the same direction,
As if God drew this connection.
But then the night slipped out of sight, And I had to leave you with the light.

A beautiful, romantic poem, with words that go to the heart. A clear progression of the romance, but the final lines point to a separation. Is it a temporary separation ?...
