In the heat of swinging last night,
Dixiemix Jazz Band took flight.
The trumpet sounds, its melody soared
Beckoning rhythm to the world.
Drums thunder with a jazzy roar,
The bass hummed, a velvet core.
The clarinet blew, soft and sweet,
Carving tunes where soul and beat meet.
The trombone sang with notes sublime
And the guitar taking me back in time.
Their notes were more than sound,
A tapestry spun of joys profound.
Their music bloomed and never faded.
Every riff, a spark divine,
Echoing through the sands of time.
Dixiemix, a name that gleams,
The heartbeat of jazz, the stuff of dreams.
So let us sway, let spirits rise,
To Dixiemix and rhythmic skies.
For in their chords, life's stories blend,
A jazz adventure with no end.

A fine paean presented in relishing detail and a riot of rhyme. I felt the energy through your words, Andy.
I would send it to them if I were you -They could frame it and send you a season ticket (or rather two). You deserve it.
Thank you Dave, I have sent it to them but not received the season tickets yet. LOL
