Stasis Will Replace Us

Tristan Robert Lange

The moonglow overhead,
Skies of summer serenity

Shining—

The darkness pining—
Imagination immaculate,
A conception never meant
To be concealed.

The cosmos revealed
Beneath an obsidian ocean
Speckled with paritous pearls—
Sparkling sky shrapnel
Forever embedded in eternity’s face.

Will the Creator forgive
The free f

 To fragmentation?
 Will we be
 Forgiven for
 Forgetting to fight
 Against fomenting fears?

Glowing,
     The moon’s
Maniacal
  Mysterium ministers
To the midnight menagerie
Moongazing for monster eyes.

Egos trip best at night,
Serpent souls slithering in sight—
Taking to flight—
No records to right
As they skip beneath
Needles of plight.

There’s nothing more tragic
Than the trance of static.

Stasis will replace us.

  • Comment from author about the poem: “Paritous” is a coined term derived from parity (equality/equivalence), used here to suggest celestial symmetry—stars as balancing forces embedded in darkness.

A deeply intellectual dive into the cosmos of space and mind. Loved your continued use of format to enhance the feel of the poem. Some big words for a big universe and images as alliteration hypnotizes the reader. The las lines define the poem for me. The use of static is a vision of what remains not causation or even correlation but chaos and accompanying stasis. Very cerebral and chillingly nihilistic

Dearest, Soren, you nailed exactly what I hoped the form would echo—movement without momentum, language spiraling into signal loss. That final descent into static…yeah. Exactly. Not meaning, not message—just what's left behind when all else collapses. Definitely chilling and I am glad that came across. Thank you, my friend, for your time, astute analysis and support. I truly cherish it! 🌕🐍📡🙏

In the hush of moonlit stillness, the cosmos reveals both beauty and unease—shimmering with wonder, yet pierced by the ache of fragmentation. Beneath the glow, fears ferment, egos unravel, and darkness whispers through the cracks of night. The tragedy lies not in chaos, but in the trance of unchanging stasis. gripping stuff.

Exactly. Wow, my dear friend. I love your way with words. Thank you for your time and analysis! 🌕🐍📡🙏

La dee, what on earth is this seeming half incantation?! "...if I say, surely the darkness will cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from Thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to Thee." (Psalm 139: 11-12) Read the whole little chapter...I can't rightly say, but "...there is forgiveness with Thee that Thou mightest be feared" This is a fascinating, intriguing little number. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

Oh I love that you brought Psalm 139 into this, Missy. That particular stretch—“even the night shall be light about me”—might just be the shadow-twin of this piece. This poem walks through the void not to find light, but to notice what remains when even light seems to be snuffed. And yet...yes...even there, a whisper of forgiveness lingers. The light cannot be snuffed by the darkness...never completely. So, there's hope even where there seems to be none. Thank you so much for your reflection—it’s always a joy to read your responses, my dear friend! 🌕🐍📡🙏

A deep and complex write, to be honest is way above my station, am enjoying trying to figure it out

Thank you, my dear friend. That means the world to me, truly. If it makes you pause and wonder, then it’s doing exactly what I hoped it would. I’m thrilled you’re enjoying the swim in the deep waters. That’s the highest compliment. Thank you for your time, your thoughts, and your support. 🌕🐍📡🙏

A friend of Obi's in that pic? How on earth did I relate Obi into this? lol.

Well, it's all about his strong arms while at sea wrestling with sea...spinach. Of course! 🤣

I find as much significance in the structure of your works as the actual content, Tristan. Master artworks of themselves. Good value there alone.

Wow! Thank you so much, Dave. Truly means so much to me. Much appreciated! 🌕🐍📡🙏
