What brought together such friendship?
Some eternal driving force of the world, attracting together
Divine companionship?
No.
I saw a sun, eclipsed by the clique of a school,
Rising behind me in PE.
Or could it be that she was setting?
Curiosity, caused by God or not, drove me on.
For how could one ignore such light seeping from this seeming fool?
This fool the world discarded I found to be gold, tested and pure.
I found life, living behind vibrant eyes,
With dreams aspiring towards the skies
And all the grace to have it.
She led me to Beauty, and all but terrified
Me with the things that I've been shied
From all these many years, namely
Beauty, not an ideal, but a Truth.
Embodied in man and their hands:
A terrible gift to misuse,
But what grace can pour through
When one uses this gift for the Truth?
No.
She was not dead, but laughing,
Spitting through grit and pain,
With joy dwelling deep within, brimming.
What gift could I give to one so far surpassing?
A sun so bright, I stare into the blinding
Being and see the Truth smiling back at me?
What sum could pay for all my cares
She's tended and handled to?
What gift could glorify her
Who's gone and shown me the Truth?
My debt is infinite,
And yet
My mere presence is enough to satiate
Our relationship.
What must I do?
What should I do?
What can I do?
I guess all I can say is
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
