I don’t want to be a love poet,
Or
an anti love poet.
Actually, Id be just fine to never say the word love again.
I hate butterflies.
Nothing creeps me out more than googly eyes
And Valentines Day is the worst holiday ever…..aside from Presidents’ Day.
But
I
Don’t
Hate
Love
I just don’t Love love either.
The world has so much to offer it’s a shame how much attention love gets.
It’s actually quite the distraction to things way more relevant.
I wish people wanted to be educated as much as they want to be in love.
Imagine A world with smart leaders….

Love such a misused word, some mean passion, others sex, some think it cute others have a religious mind to me love is much more it is caring for someone more than oneself and in this sense I cherish it but it is overused. I hear it in this poem and feel and affinity to what you say Nicely done
Definitely misunderstood and overused! Asking what does that mean to you has now become my automatic response to “I love you”.
Thank you for reading and commenting!
What a wonderful write, stating the truth about love, and wouldn't it be a different world if more wanted to be educated, enjoyed the read
Thank you for taking the time to read and comment!
You are very welcome
Hear Hear! 👍
Thank you for taking the time to read!
More than that - it has been a minor campaign of mine over the few years I've been here. Love poetry on these pages mostly is ridiculous.
I thought I was the only one!

If you're serious, you'll find a way to poetically render the things and etc you love perfectly. This is a beauty. I love it. Thank you for sharing.
True words!
Thank you for reading! I’m thrilled that you enjoyed it.
Smart leader? Isn't that a Oxymoron.
I know what your saying in your Poem.
Love is an overused Word: like Literally.
I heard someone on the News once say 'Their legs literally turned to jelly'. 😆 A fine Poem.
Used and abused to its core!
Thank you for reading!
Like your poem but I also love love. Guess I can hold two opposite thoughts simultaneously
Absolutely!
I’m glad you like the poem!
We are still hopeless romantics at the days end .
