I Stand

Tony36

I stand and speak my mind

But I am told to

Sit down and shut up

I speak for those who can not

Again I am told to

Sit down and shut up

No

There are people out there

Hurting

Dying

Hungry

I will not ignore them

As so many have

They cry out to me

I have answered them

Now I cry out on their behalf

I have seen their tears

I have heard their children cry in hunger

Because their parents can not feed them

I have seen these people wear the same clothes day after day

Because they have nothing to change into

Yet

You tell me to sit down and shut up

No

Not until these people have shelter

Not until these people have food to eat

Not until these people have clean clothes to weare

I will not sit down

I will not shut up

These people need a voice

A good write on standing up for what one sees as right, for the weak, for those that can not speak for themselves. A lovely write

      Thank you

We shouldn’t have to sit down and shut up .. if we don’t want to and if we only saying our opinion etc

      A good writing

Should be allowed to express a opinion without being told to be silent

Your words roar with courage and compassion—never stay silent for those who suffer. The world needs more voices like yours, unyielding and fierce in the face of injustice.

YES!!!! And we can be the voice for the voiceless, like prophets in the wilderness crying, make the way STRAIGHT for the LORD...which I have always interpreted: clean your act up and start standing up for what's right! Live justly, love MERCY, walk humbly. Simple. Pure. Would be easy if we just didn't stand in our own way. Love everything this poem and you stand for Tony! Keep it coming mate! 🌹👏
