I'll Play Like Rip Van Winkle and Eat Eclairs

Cheeky Missy

...on the couch.

I Guess He Never Thought I'd Sleep

(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCDLXXXIII)

I fell asleep last night upon t'avail
The couch, woke after midnight, tumbling thence
Off to my bed, and they both joined me, whence
How Tigger purred about my head like's bail,
Whilst Peter walked 'bout at my feet, to trail
Off after her whenas she left fr'intents,
To their bed? He sez that I slept sans sense
For thirteen hours?! Rise late as they both hail.
Fresh food and water, they are thankful to
Indulge when I serve cottage cheese in tour
To us; and oh! how Tigger  would as twere
Join me for porridge too, but that won't do,
Cuz it's so very boring. What is poor
Is how I fail to trust, LORD: I need You.

Of National Chocolate Eclair Day '25

(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCDLXXXIV)

Live for the Nash'nal Choc'late 'clair Day, thence
T'indulge, and quite neglect that one detail
I've lived for all year when I scribble. Hail
Not one, but twa packs of eclairs' defense,
And kittens' antics fill the page for sense,
Whilst I gad 'bout to Starbucks to avail
Me of the final huge star days to scale,
As pers'nal cups shan't profit much from hence.
And why'd I pull a catnip mouse in tour
Out for them last night, I dunno. They do
Have fun with it. And don't tell aught as twere,
But they're now playing with half my bras, the crew
Hung from my bedroom door like toys, is't poor?
If there's aught else, oh LORD, redeem me too.

...why'd they teach us that song?

"Here I am, Standing On the Outside--"

(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCDLXXXV)

The amb'ance of Panera on the trail
Of morning's laden with sweet converse, dense
With myriad happy voices, and the sense
In bustling orders placed, where bagels hail
The limelight by the baker's dozn t'avail;
And I'm half like the fly just watching thence
Upon the wall, filled with their joys fr'intents,
Whilst waiting for my order like I've bail.
Guess I learned window watching as it were
In childhood, kept aloof from all folk knew
Because it never could be mine. Is't poor?
The fun is not mine, even if I do
Try out their grand activ'ties. I'll bestir
Joys from the outside, watching. LORD, where to?

Don't Ask Me Where THIS Came From

(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCDLXXXVI)

How deep, huge shadows slide across the sense
Of golden hours, the eye of Autumn hale
In hopes of crackling leaves and bonfires' trail
Within that note, til August seems from hence
Most imm'nent, as June winds down with suspense
In tow, heat like an ovn, til naught'd avail
'Cept air condishning, if yer lucky, bail
Scarce whileas Febry's marbled ice' pretense.
And fifty looks like death warmed oer in tour,
I have assessed. What of the joys we knew?
I never planned to live this long as twere.
My niece and nephew now define the view,
Where any pleasures are a mem'ry fer
The grave to swallow. LORD. I wait for You.

[am I the resident clown?!]

This Happy Go Lucky Circus

(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCDLXXXVII)

Think I'll lie on my bed, but Peter'd hail
The end of it as his, whilst Tigger thence
Waits at my feet for whither, with a sense
She'll get there first. I maunt at all bewail
This turn of style, so chase the couch for bail,
And leave the bedroom to their play fr'intents,
Half mulling what has happened to defense
Where less than two weeks rule what I'd avail.
To charge my ancient phones means they'll demur
And yes, unplug the things ere charged. I do
Not mind, and think it cute. But is that poor?
My brother sez they're his cuz I'm, tis true,
Lo, allus out. Like parenting as twere
I don't know what I'm doing. LORD, I need You.
