Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Living in the Pocono Mountains has its perks, no doubt. Internet connectivity ain't one of them. Please forgive my tardiness as of late. The tech gods be thundering!

Please hear me,
Fabulous,
Feel my love today.
I can feel
The weight of your pain.
Tattered tattoos,
Aren’t we all?

Marks that stay but fade, Scared over and dirtied, tattered most poetic casts a different image and in alliteration with tattoos it rings and leaves an image of used up like a flag torn and bullet ridden in war. And so are we in the war of life. Nicely done Tristan
Soren…thank you, truly. 🙏 That flag image—torn and bullet-ridden in the war of life—stopped me. Yes. That’s the image underneath the surface, even though I never said it out loud. I’m so grateful you saw it. And for how you always bring your poetic eye into these spaces. 🧷📬💧🙏 Again, I truly appreciate your deep insights and support, my dear friend!
Hmm. Tattoos the other means of covering aside from clothing, like the pair I saw yesterday at Panera so decked out that clothing seemed an extra, are essentially permanent yet occasionally momentary, and in the latter may well become tattered. Or I'm too ignorant and the message in brevity so eloquently delivered is that we're all but ghosts painted on the fabric of forever and fading away? Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.
My dear sweet poet and friend…only you could weave Panera, permanence, and ghosts into a single breath and make it sing. 😄 I love how you explored the tension between adornment and disappearance. Ghosts painted on the fabric of forever? Killer line! Wish I had written it! 😅 Thank you for meeting this one with such depth and imagination. 🧷📬💧🙏
We most certainly are, love the analogy very apt, enjoyed the read
Thank you so much, my friend. Glad it delivered and you enjoyed. Have a great day! 🧷📬💧🙏
You are very welcome
Excellent write Tristan
Thank you, Tony! Much appreciated! 🧷📬💧🙏
You're welcome
Good write T. Is Popeye on holiday? lol.
I think he might be. His arm was getting too large! Too much Spinach, says he! Argh! 🤪
Whoops! lol.
short and (bitter)sweet, a fave!
Thank you so much, Hayleigh! Glad it delivered. I appreciate your time, thoughts and fave, my friend! 🧷📬💧🙏
Emotional attachment that comes with any tattoo is quite enormous especially if you put someone's name on it, my father has them all over, the one that stands out for me is the Jesus on the cross he has on his chest, it's huge and was painted over 60 years ago. A great theme 🌹
Oh Teddy…thank you for sharing that. 🙏 That image of your father’s tattoo—Jesus on the cross, weathered by time yet still there—hit me in the chest. What a powerful testament to memory, pain (I have a number of tattoos myself, including a full sleeve on my left arm and my late black cat, Sophie, on my chest 😅), and even love. I’m honored this piece brought that to mind. Sending love and respect always, my dear friend. 🧷📬💧🙏
Tremendous work.
Thank you, Thomas! Much appreciated, my friend! 🧷📬💧🙏
You've obviously caught today's zeitgeist here, Tristan, and by the look of the responses already in, the underlying feel is evident for many. Good for you, and them. It's just that for me, tattoos.................................... Blocked, I am - sorry!
Well, don't block me mate...I'm covered in them! 🤣 This was written while observing another human being sitting in her postal delivery van, which had broken down. It was hot and she looked like she was having a rough day. Anywho. I truly appreciate you reading and engaging, my friend! 🧷📬💧🙏
There ain't no topic (well almost no topic) I won't engage wit... Double or triple negative? Whatever. But when it comes to tattoos, well all I can state here is that they ain't for me; as for you, I can't see 'em so why should I care? Therefore normal service shall remain uninterrupted... ☺️
again a heartfelt request, which i hope is not shattered and thrown in tatters..all the best
