A moment today
me sitting outside
by the cat resting with the breeze and sun
I hear and see a pretty pigeon playing with a twig in the tree
she was sitting held by the branch
walking on a place that maybe felt steady ,safe , normal
and maybe felt part of that tree at that moment
allowed to be
safe to be there
walking the branches
tender tree always allows these pigeons and other birds to sit and walk along their space
their used to this
quiet birds
singing birds
resting in their steady soft stable space
seems ‘ normal ‘
and the cat , she gazes at the pigeon with her cloudy soft eyes
whilst I too was standing , watching the pigeon at the same time
a nice distraction from my mind
and that feeling of disconnect
soft breeze with me
a cat by my side
and a pigeon near to me
walking in that tree
nice to be outside
I could see a pigeon connected to the tree
and a cat connected ti the grass
A soft sight outside of the four walls

- Comment from author about the poem: The cat who visits us had cataracts ( I think .. that’s why her eyes are all cloudy ) But yeah nice to just step into the garden and sit by the cat I havnt been anywhere today apart from the garden .. and I was upset earlier with how I felt .

How lovely these simple observations of life can be, and how comforting when needed. Nature does heal us. Beatifully told!
Thankyou very much )) I had been in a lot of the morning .. I can find comfort in nature .. yes ..
The cat is lovely she’s been visiting our house for a long while now .. we call her ‘ boots ‘ but i don’t know her real name
Glad you liked my poem
Thankyou
I enjoy the birds and the squirrels who come to the feeders on my deck every day. They do become friends. Your 'boots' sounds lovely. Hve a beautiful day!
You built an image where I drew from it a metaphor. The pigeon or dove of peace, the cat a predator but blinded, and the observer. Make of it what you may but is seems to have peace predators must in some way be blinded and left to be fed by those that care. Loved the poem
A lovely write and nicely observed, expressing the comfort that little things can bring us, and give us a little break from the stresses of life, enjoyed the read
Oh Caring Dove…this brought such a still, tender peace. 🌳🕊️ The way you described that moment—cat grounded, pigeon held by the tree, and you right there, watching—felt like a soft breath I didn’t know I needed. I’m so sorry the day started rough, but I’m glad the garden gave you that bit of presence. You gave it to us too. 🌹👏 Feel better, my friend!
It is so wonderful to be seeing life in this way Yellow Rose, fine words.
