Don't Give Me THAT Look

Cheeky Missy

[24 hours later...guess I did NOT]

I Think I Hit the Jackpot

(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCCDXI)

I've never heard a growl or fight to scale
Oer food, until I serve raw salmon dense
In all they could desire, complete fr'intents
With scales and skin, and then the only bail
Is each their own. If Peter's teething, they'll
Need such things for their health. Spare no expense?
Tis better than aught drugs in sheer defense
Of all we wanted 'long this rocky trail.
Oh, Saturday at last! French toast in tour
Of sourdough onions top and deck out too
Inside? I never taste a bit as t'were.
With maple syrup and thin bacon to
The tune of round "Canad'an bacon," stir
An easy breakfast where LORD, I'd praise You.

...I had to follow suit, you know.

Their Watermelon Slices Looked Convincing

(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCCDXII)

Where does the time go, eh? Or whither hence
Now aught we cherished is but that detail
Drawn up in mem'ries near or far? Avail
Me how, where work eats up the time, til whence
Is like, "which minute?" Oh how Robert thence
Must drag me from a catnap for that bail
Of choosing foodstuffs. Fill a box to scale
And lo, he carries it! Have I defense?
Lo, Jarlsburg swiss in wedges! Was it poor
I only grab four wedges since I knew
It is the best from decades 'go? And were
It folly to 'non envy, I've now two:
A watermelon, cant'loupe for our tour
Of duty and "the fourth." LORD, I'll thank You.

Yay. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! We're still on the fence regarding his odd behaviors. Since he'll bounce around and play with his sister he seems to be "okay" but today, July 12th marks a month since they came home so we're all still learning. Thank you again!

I always adore how you blend the sacred and the everyday, Miss...and this set is no exception! From the salmon diplomacy to the Jarlsberg (yum) revelations, itโ€™s all laced with your signature culinary charm. Always a joy to read my friend. ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ‘

Poems "I Think I Hit the Jackpot" and "Their Watermelon Slices Looked Convincing" explore themes of domestic life, the joy of simple pleasures, and the passage of time. The first poem reflects on the joys of preparing food for loved ones, particularly the joy derived from serving raw salmon to pets, while juxtaposing this with the delight of a Saturday breakfast with French toast. The second poem expresses nostalgia and the fleeting nature of time, capturing moments of everyday life and the joy in small tasks, like selecting food at a market. Both poems highlight the importance of food as a source of comfort and connection in daily life.
