That’s me

Heart of gold and nerves of steel ,

is how I let everyone know how I feel,

some love me , some don’t, that’s totally ok,

because I’m always me at the end of each day ,

I will give you the world if you show me kindness and love ,

but I will speak my mind if you want to act all tough ,

I am consistent each day through and through ,

I always reflect the actions and emotions that’s given by you,

Take me for who I am because I’m always true ,

The me that you get fully depends on you

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this piece because I’ve noticed lately that people either love me or hate me - for the same reason - I’m genuine and cannot be molded into someone I’m not and I’m not going to follow the crowd because it’s cool - I’m going to follow my heart and be real - even it hurts or is disappointing or makes them happy , how people conceive me is completely up to them - I lose no sleep either way But if you’ve shown me love and respect genuinely- you will never lose it ❤️❤️ love you all and thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my post 🫶🫶

        I agree Melissa, I say to people "This is me, if you don't like what you see that is not my problem." We need to be ourselves.

          this is a truly genuine and true statement, and i applaud you - and yes, earlier I used to bend over backwards to please people - now I follow my heart - if they want me, they have to take me as I am - arts and all : btw I too had written a poem on this topic -will share one day...
