"flight mode"
The higher they climbed, the quicker they blurred,
Wrapped in code and status conferred.
Juno sat still, mapped the ache,
Her descent revealed what ascent forsake.
A world within—a pulse, a thread—
Flight not above, but through instead.

- Comment from author about the poem: As the weekend begins let’s look above and beyond... “flight mode” explores the tension between external ascent and inner journey. It contrasts rapid, superficial elevation; whether social, technological or career-driven, with a deliberate inward descent that uncovers what genuine growth demands. The poem suggests that true elevation arises not from climbing ever higher, but from navigating the landscapes we have within us. 🕊️🙏🏻

Cryptic are you referring to Juno e-mail? or is it the Roman goddess of marriage? or the space probe that orbited Jupiter in 2016? Got my mind working here.
The email could also fit in, but the other two were primary images, yes. It’s a case of which shoe fits best 🕊️🙏🏻
My feet swollen so it's hard to tell, can't even get the shoes on today. Fun read
My feet are throbbing from standing at work. Funny on loopy days.
This is a teaser I am going to have to work on, flight mode to me refers to always running away as opposed to going forward, a lovely gentle read for the weekend
Oh yeah, as well as your smartphone on "flight mode" so it's quite interesting, really🕊️🙏🏻
Good write, arqios. A lot of directions to go here.
Many thanks, Jerry. Yes indeed that's true🕊️🙏🏻
Perhaps it allows us to reconsider our definitions of success. It could also suggest that the metrics we chase: followers, titles, likes, often leave us bewildered and empty. Maybe, embracing deliberate descent: pausing, listening, mapping our own yearnings, we discover the pulse that truly propels us. Real elevation may arise not from external vantage points but from navigating the secret terrain of the self. Just one of many points of view...
The poem aims to provoke thought about the nature of ambition and self-discovery, encouraging readers to consider the value of introspection over mere achievement. It also invites reflection on their own "flight mode" and the balance between striving for success and understanding oneself.
That Spirit flowa through us all forever arqios.

Yes indeed, thanks Andy 🕊️🙏🏻
Here's a response to the poem from a fellow poet on another site: "Good morning Red,
I read “flight mode” as a contrast between the blur of upward striving—whether in tech, status, or escape—and the clarity that comes from turning inward and moving through experience instead of above it. The Juno reference sharpens that: she’s not just anyone sitting still, but a figure of power choosing descent over distance, trading Olympian altitude for human closeness. That choice reframes “flight” as immersion, not avoidance—a kind of sovereignty that learns more from presence than from height. It leaves me thinking that sometimes the truest movement isn’t in climbing higher, but in daring to go deeper. Great lines!
Regards,
Rolph"
Excellent perspective! The message is on point. That's what I want, to navigate the landscape within me by being whole in my character.
