I can’t see you

Olive Anderson

I can’t see you

1/12/2025 1212

Picking away at a scab on my knee

It bleeds

Blood all over my hands

Dripping down my shin

Onto the carpet

Soaking into the fibers

Pools of tears flood my being

Seeping out two sockets on my face

Reaching for a tissue

Swiping away the leak

Its red

I can't see

It’s blurry

It stings

I feel pains through my pores

From the tip of my mind to the middle of my being

Seeing a figure in the distance

A distant blurry being through the red I see

Arms held together close to your belly

Hair brushing to the left of you

Almost as if you’re standing in front of a fan

No eyes, just a nose

A nose that looks like mine

A figure petite like mine

A pair of black shoes like mine

Standing up, the blood continues to drip

Reaching out my left hand

You are in reach

I run

I run

I run

Smashing my head against hardness you disappear

Everything begins to disappear

Tumbling down I go

Darkness I see

A most interesting thing how far back memory reaches. Most is foggy before speech develops but there are snapshot visuals before. A most interesting read.

A very interesting write in relation to their mother, I wasn't sure if this triggered by memory or a recurring nightmare, Thought provoking read
